Taken in the morning of Chinese New Year, on the way out to my grandma's place ^^

I was super excited to see it SNOW this morning when Fred opened the window :) Immediately headed out to play with some snow yeah ~!

Now we're chilling at Starbucks with a cup of coffee and a nice piece of cheesecake (to celebrate his birthday).. should be heading off to Insadong for a nice birthday dinner :)

So i was supposed to study for my Korean test, and i got sort of side tracked.

Picked up my straightener and started playing with my hair ~

Consider okay lah since it was my first time ^^

Hello !

So by next week, my first semester in a Korean University is OVER !

FINALLY.

So its been 3 months since i've been here. And although i feel homesick occasionally, it still feels awesome being here..Guess the three month syndrome only lasted for a week eh Jo ?

Anyway, i will have a Taekwondo Performance next week. Nothing big. Just a couple of Taekwondo Dances and the board breaking thing. It will be on Christmas eve :)

Then there will be a very nice surprise for Christmas !

Anyhoo, just wanted to keep you guys updated. My korean is as bad as ever, but yeah, i just hope i wont get an F for this finals and go to the next level. I don't want to be stuck at level One :(

Oh hai.

I have just received some photographs from Jun Haw.

These photographs were taken in 누리마루, a place where you could see both sides, Gwangalli and Haeundae.

And this place was visited by many countries in the past including Malaysia.

And along the paths there were like boards representing each countries..

So there was Japan with the lucky cat..

then China with the Panda obviously..

And Jun Haw and I walked further along the path looking for Malaysia, guessing what the logo would be.. maybe the KLCC ? or the Rafflesia... or the Orang Utan?

Like WHAT? Is it because the houses in Malaysia have alot of lizards?

Anyway,

And no i have not put on 5kilos. Seriously. (I am surprised myself lol)

Oh those are everlast shoes btw and they are gorgeous!!

I'm writing this now because i am alone in my room with my aching heart.

I miss home. At the beginning I thought this feeling won't come to me so soon but its been almost three months since im here.

I miss my family, my dog, my best friends and you, Frederick.

I know that me being here has changed so much. My thinking towards life (wah) and people. I realised that I havent been talking to the people i love often enough, and i'm sorry. But really, these are the moments where i have time for myself, to think about you guys, and i get .. upset :(

Eventhough i just got off the phone with you dear, it feels like forever since i last seen you. I know that ever since i arrived we have not talked much, and i'm sorry. But now, every moment that i spend with you i treasure with all my heart. I wish i could tell you all this to you now but i will have to wait until tomorrow.

I am torn in between Lee Min Ho & Daniel Wu !

I have been so much of a Daniel fan until i came over to Korea, and Min Ho was everywhere, and seriously he's super cute! Have yet to meet him in real person (Have met Daniel early this year~) The only downfall with Min Ho is that rumours said he had plastic surgery before (which is really common among the Korean stars) and Daniel is alot older than him. But Daniel earns a plus point, that he speaks english + an american accent. Super sexy okay ! :)

This post is going to be picture free. I am sitting alone in my dormitory room, on a lousy chair that is making my butt hurt. My roomates have all gone to the library to study for the coming mid term exams. I am fitting along well here. I guess. Probably i just need more time to really make myself comfortable. Right now, things are going along well. Work at the cafe is interesting. I've talked to almost 6 buddies today. And i can barely remember their names. They are all really nice. Really. And the people who are working with me in the cafe are nice too. I cannot speak Korean well yet, but my mandarin is improving. People are amazed with my ability to speak three languages. But somehow i feel that it is inadequate. I want to push myself to work harder to be able to speak / write / understand Korean but i feel so tired all the time. This is getting on my nerves. I want myself to feel motivated, to have a purpose. Sometimes i question my purpose of being here in Korea, so far away from my comfort zone, my home. Is it to make friends, to talk to people, to immerse myself in the Korean culture and eat korean food. Or is it just an escape from my degree programme, from home, to prove that i can be independent and am no longer mummy's baby? Why exactly am i here? I have no regrets coming here however. My roomate's mother invited me to her home. And yes mom i will most likely be going after mid term examination. Another Korean friend of mine invited me to a open house in late october. I am worried about my mid terms. I don't know how is it possible for anyone to memorize those words. There is so many ! :( Probably i am not pushing myself hard enough. After work i'll just come home, have dinner, sports and sleep. And it repeats itself everyday. I miss my family, my friends, especially Unggas, Jowee, Iman and Aman. I wish there was someone here that i could talk to, and know that they wouldn't judge me. Give me opinions and give me a hug when I need one. It is tiring to only be able to talk to you guys through the internet, not being able to hear your voices, or to feel your hugs. I am talking about random stuff here while waiting for my laundry. It sucks that you guys are not here, if you all were, we would go to so many awesome places. I try to fit in with the rest. I really do. But it is difficult. I make an effort but they seem to not respond. I do not know what else to do. By the end of this post, my mom would be so paranoid. But mom, dad, sis. I am fine. Please do not worry. :)

I am loving korea more and more as days pass.

I love the people who live with me, my roomates, pinky, aileen and lianne.

I love the emart and the 'tesco' as well as the streets where you can get lost and still find a bus terminal.

I love the weather most, especially when we walk down the hill for lunch in the mornings..

I love the people because they will go anyonghaseyo at you at any random time plus saying kamsahimda to the friendly bus driver.

I love that transportation (bus) is free !

I am beginning to love this place :D
Now. Gimme my Curry chicken and Nasi Lemak and i would love this place to death.

Hello everyone !

I am safe and sound, typing away in my little (okay maybe not so little) desk below my bed.

All my roomates are asleep now as they have a Nine AM class tomorrow. I would be meeting them for breakfast at 7.30AM (super early god) then meeting Yun at 11am for subject enrollment. Which i havent decided yet. Argh !

Anyway, the flight was pretty decent. Except for a little bumping in the middle of the night. But at least there were no.. crying babies or any sort. (I hope my typing isn't bothering my roommates who are trying to sleep). I woke up in the middle of the night in the plane (not like i got much sleep) but when i gazed out of the small square window i saw tonnes of stars and clouds at the bottom. It was beautiful. I took some pics but im not sure if you could see them.

Thank you for those who came to the airport to send me off. You know i really really appreciate it. and i love all of you so much <3>

Mom i know you will be reading this but don't cry anymore ah ! I know how you feel and it just takes a little bit of time to get used to it. Besides, you can just call me anytime you want.

I love you. and dad too and i would miss our mamak sessions :) Sis and Kee Hui for ramli burgers.

Oh yeah. i would be going off to buy my stuff on Wednesday with my roommates. I've shown them the photo album and they were really excited looking at it. ^^ . The people i've met so far are really nice (yes even the guy at the airport who started talking in Korean and still continued even though our faces were like ? ? ? ) haha..

There will be orientation night on Wednesday 8.30pm. And mosquito disinfection tomorrow. Ugh. I need a table lamp asap. The showers are not bad (in case you are wondering). At least they have Really, really hot water. Haven't checked the laundry out but they have tonnes of vending machines selling loads of stuff.

I need some time to get used to the food. Haha :P

I've gotten two tickets for the premiere screening of Orphan and I gave it to my sister.

And so i wrote it on my facebook wall. And this guy named Kelvin Yap commented.

What the hell. I don't even know you (i then realised who the hell is this dude). Shamelessly asking for tickets. Super disgusting and weird la ok. I bring Ungga + jowee + iman + aman whoever lah i also wont bring you ok wtf.

I then realised that i don't know alot of people on my facebook list (god knows why i approved). So i deleted his contact last night.

And hey i came on my facebook and saw this.

What the hell !! Freakish much. Don't even get me started on how he looks like.

Ugh.

So for the record , if i don't know you / you are adding me because you've seen me around, at least leave me a message. If you're someone from school, tell me who you are because i won't know if you put some weird display picture. And don't bother adding me just because.

Irks me like crazy.

Why would you want to add me if you haven't even spoken to me before??

ANTM SEASON 12 spoilers

I finished watching ANTM Season 12 in 2 nights. And i swear it was so so disappointing ! The ending especially. I thought London was gorgeous. Although it was kinda sad that she gained 20 pounds due to stress in the competition. And i adored Allison from the minute i saw her walk into the room. Like seriously who has those huge ass eyes man. Her eyes were like two sauce plates, double the size of mine ! Plus when she had her makeover, goodness those long blonde locks made her eyes look even nicer :) But she was showing a whole lot of "the same look" at the beginning and i was hoping that someone else would screw up so that she wouldn't get eliminated. Thank goodness. And i didn't really like Teyona though. And Celia. was too old for the competition. Plus her turning in Tahlia made me feel so annoyed. It wasn't even her business to begin with. I was so glad Sandra was eliminated because she had her nose too high up in the clouds. Irked me like crazy. Ugh. Fo was being childish about her makeover hair-do thing and just went all the way down hill from there. I thought Jessica was just a pretty face. And the fact that she said people never called her ugly, blah blah blah. Besides her face, was abit too wide for modelling. Right? Pfft. Anyway i'm still so upset over the winner :(

Tips to Score a Student Exchange Interview.

First impression is the most important. Dress well. Please don't go for an interview in jeans, a tshirt and slippers. What are they going to think of you ?

SMILE. Smile and be yourself. Say what you feel is appropriate. And don't use too many ums and ahs. Unless you really can't help it i suppose.

A thick stack of certificates displaying your achievements in life is not necessary unless stated. Or unless you want to scare another person lah. But it is unnecessary.

Read up on the University and the place where you're going to.

Promote yourself. If its an english cultural exchange like mine, tell tales of your experience of tutoring, being in student council, participating in any cultural events.

And lastly believe in yourself and tell yourself you've already gotten it.

And yes.

I've gotten it :)

We were both lying next to each other side by side.

I gave him the university's brochure and we were reading the requirements.

We talked about what we were going to do in the future.

How we would save money and meet each other.

Then i lost it.

A million things ran through my mind.

I am not sure myself if getting this thing is right.

I want this so bad yet i don't want it.

Fred says that this is not what i want.

What do i want really?

What do i really want to do with my life.

Continue pursuing my degree, learning programming even if i hate it.

Doing something, which.. i have less interest with?

Yes i am happy that i got what i wanted.

But what did i really want?

I just wanted an escape.

An escape from everything else.

Hopefully coming back with a clean, fresh slate of mind.

Something to start anew..

In regards to Digi - Nuffnang - Have Your Say Contest.

The shark in the photo has been with me since i was six. Sharkie was given to me by my uncle in the United States and serves as an inspiration for me to go on.

Today, i am eighteen.

People who know me, will know that Sharks are my number one favourite..

and i would do anything, to stop Shark Finning.

For the previous years, i've done everything. To educate the people around me about this inhumane activity.

I have presented several presentations.

Boycotted Sharks Fin Soup.

Visited local Aquariums (and gotten stuck in the Shark Tunnel - because i loved looking @ the sharks swim by.. @ Aquaria )

So What is Shark Finning ?

Shark Finning is a cruel act of capturing a shark, cutting off all of its fins, and then dumping it back into the ocean.

According to FoxNews, approximately 73 million sharks are killed PER YEAR for this sharks-fin trade.

That itself is an absurd number, killing life, just for our pleasure.

Plus, don't forget, sharks fin is tasteless. which is why we add vinegar to taste.

People consume sharks fin for the texture.

Why not something else in replacement?

Now, imagine if you were walking on the street, someone runs up to you, and takes a parang, chops off your arms, and your legs. What would happen?

The same thing would happen to the sharks.

"What ? nothing would happen what.. the sharks grow back fins lor"

The real hard truth.

They sink to the bottom of the ocean.

Struggling for air.

And dying. A slow. and painful death.

"They don't throw it back into the ocean lah.. they take the shark's body and put it on the boat and sell lor"

The real hard truth.

These fishermen almost NEVER take the whole shark as it will take up alot of space on the boat. So the simplest way is to cut, and dump.

Imagine what would happen in a few years later, if we continue to kill these breath-taking animals.

Imagine what would happen to the ocean's ecosystem.

Stop Shark Finning.

It is time to educate ourselves, and educate the people around us.

Because awareness is the key.

If you refuse a bowl of sharks fin soup, a shark might be saved.

Stop purchasing shark fins.

Refuse it from your Dinner menu's ,Wedding menus.

You mean the World to me.

Sometimes i wonder how come people complain and moan incessantly when they have the opportunity right infront of them. Something that some of us crave and hunger for, and would trade anything to be in their shoes. Shouldn't we grab the opportunity, have dreams, and step our best foot forward to make them into reality.

Are things really not what they seem to be? Living away from home, leaving this hatred place, leaving and not missing the smell of Malaysia.

It is all i dream of.

And yet some people still complain. Over and over about how much they dread leaving.

"Living there is not what it seems. It's hard when i have you."

Sometimes i wonder if i would cry when i'm away,

If i would miss the hot weather here,

Or if i would miss coming home to clean sheets.

Fred and I just came home from the Premier of "Terminator Salvation", courtesy of Nuffnang!

The movie (of course i'm not going to spoil it for the rest of you) but i think its a must watch lah ! For a person who..seldom watches these movies, i thought it was quite good (Fred thought so too!)

Although the both of us came home with aching necks and shoulders lol coz we were at row L, which is the row right infront. *ouch*

Anyway,

Today Fred and I went to OldTown to satisfy our cravings for Nasi Lemak.

Then we had two half boiled eggs in a bowl.

He took one and mixed it with his rice and warned me not to eat the other one.

I took the whole bowl, scouped up the huge looking yolk.

He looked at me with his big eyes.

And i put the yolk in my mouth.

I felt it dancing between my tongue and my teeth.

And

*bshhhhhhhh*

it burst.

NYAM.

That was the best way to eat an egg yolk i swear.

Joked around with Sarah and Liang.
Finally understood methods. Mr Yong took 1 1/2 hours teaching us + solving one method question.

Went to MidValley to meet Mom for lunch.
Was really craving for Salmon Salad from Zanmai.
Had Ma Poh Tau Fu rice instead. Upset.
Really wanted to go for the dinosaur exhibition. Will ask Fred about it later.
Went to the Jusco Sale @ the exhibition centre. The queue was nuts.

3pm-6pm

Came home and lazed around.
Turned Daniel on, clicked on the few bookmarks on my bar. *click* Uncertainties..Melissa Hsu *click* Facebook|Home *click* igoogle
Finally finished torrenting 'Emerald City' from BigFishGames.
Hooked on to this 'detective' like game for hours until dinner time.
Finished the game (!!!!!)
Guilt of not studying gnawing me into pieces. Nevermind. Will study after dinner.
Fred texts. Felt my heart beat really quick.
Was so certain the doorbell would ring.

7pm

Had dinner. Watched 'The Biggest Looser' Disappointed that Blue Crew lost again (and wtf they voted Aaron out??!?!)
Thinking of switching sides. Thinks that Jillian's abs are to-die-for.
Anxiously waiting for the doorbell to ring.

8pm

Went on Daniel again. Tried doing Graphic Design homework. finished 4 slides.
Turned on Facebook. Went to YoVille, collected my cash.
Talked to Aman for a bit.
STILL anxiously waiting for the doorbell to ring

Gave up. Stupid doorbell.
Talked to Sarah, Liang and Edward. All of them had to leave at the same time (?!)
Strummed the guitar abit (Still avoiding the fact that i had to get some homework done)

Told Aman i had to leave to get some work done.

Finally, plugged in trusty pendrive. (containing java codes)
Logged on to YoVille. Watched David Choi videos. Watched mac vs pc videos.
Sent a couple of videos to Samantha.
.... told Aman that my plan of studying isn't working. "This is what First Class Honors Students do man!!!" Procrastinate the whole weeks worth of holidays away.
Finally, opened up netbeans. Wrote a few lines. Got stuck. Saved and Quit.
Send a couple of texts to Fred.
Still... hoping the doorbell would ring :(

Decided to catch some sleep (eye bags are really terrible these days)
Tossed and turned. Heart beating really quick. Felt anxious, worried, excited.
Felt like puking.
Picked up a book to calm myself down.
"A Friend Like Henry" by Nuala Gardner. Tells the story about an autistic child and how a dog changed his life.
Refuse to read the book until the end because the dog surely die and i will surely cry.
Finally falls asleep
